Logo for Kytopen

At Kytopen, I was the company’s first (and only!) product manager. I created and maintained the product and technology roadmap (near- and long-term) and oversaw development and launch of the Flowfect® platform. Flowfect is a flow-based electro-mechanical transfection technology. The platform includes the following products:

  • Flowfect Discover – automated liquid handling system designed for high-throughput cell transfection
  • Flowfect Tips – proprietary pipette tip for use with Flowfect Discover
  • Flowfect Tx – large volume system designed for manufacturing all volumes of cell therapies (1mL through 1L)
  • Flowfect Cartridge – consumable to enable transfection with Flowfect Tx; available for medium volume (<10mL) and large volume (>20mL)
  • Multiple buffer solutions to enhance transfection results
  • Software applications for Flowfect Discover and Flowfect Tx (including experiement design and a digital twin for transfection settings)

When I wasn’t wearing my product development hat, I wore the marketing hat; creating Commercialization and Go-To-Market plans, maintaining brand guidelines, conducting market research including competitive intelligence and pricing analysis, and more!

Working with the Director of Finance and the Chief Executive Officer, I also developed the business model for the Flowfect platform. This business model was a critical piece of Kytopen’s overall operating budget which was approved by the Board of Directors each year.

Early in my time at Kytopen, I also implemented the phase gate approach for the product development team, ensuring full traceability and accountability for product development of medical devices.
